First Post – Introduction

 Hello Everybody, My name is Nicholas Wolfson and in the fall I will start my Junior year at GCSU. I am majoring in Mass Communications, and minoring in Rhetoric. My pronouns are he/him. My post is going to be a little late because I was on a family trip with limited wifi but I’m happy to be home and get started in our course! One piece of media I’ve been engaged with heavily this summer is the video game Marvel Rivals, combining aspects of the Marvel movies and comics all together in one game! Its been really interesting to see how the game studio took all these different characters and had them interact in one space.

Additionally Here is my Self Portrait Collage – This collage is a visual snapshot of who I am and what I like. I chose to include two pictures of myself to ground the whole thing in my real life. Around those, I filled the space with things that have shaped me or bring me joy. Teezo Touchdown is my favorite artist right now because his sound is different and his style is bold. I added a picture of Marvel Rivals, my current favorite video game. I also had to include Michael Thomas, my favorite NFL player, repping my team, the Saints, being a Saints fan is a big part of who I am. I included Mimikyu too, because it’s my favorite Pokémon, and Pokémon has been my favorite game series since I was a kid. For TV shows, I picked Bojack Horseman, Steven Universe, and Breaking Bad—three totally different shows, but each meaningful in its own way. Bojack is deep and reflective, Steven Universe is creative and full of heart, and Breaking Bad is just brilliant storytelling. This collage is basically a mash-up of the stuff that keeps me inspired, entertained, and grounded.
